HotSHots Entrepreneurs Academy 2005

30 Students through to semi-final

30 young people, selected from over 200 competition entries, attended a two day masterclass on the 17th and 18th October. Students were asked to work in groups and come up with an innovative new product combining fashion and technology. The groups were asked to present their ideas to a panel of judges including Sarah Mayer from NESTA and Tom Hunter formerly Head of Radio City. The judges selected 15 winning students who will now go forward to the final event.

Mando Group appointed the Bridge Club in September 2005 to help develop and facilitate the content of the Hotshots programme.

New Bridge Club employee Peter Hirst said; "Some of the business ideas were fantastic - we had one group inventing an alarm that monitors the temperature, breathing and pulse of small babies, and another with the idea to produce an inflatable coat that could be used as a mattress if you were tired at a house party. The young people really developed over the two days and were full of self confidence by the end."
